Mary Elizabeth Rinaldi’s understanding of the intricacies of International Tax law reporting and the IRS Audit process have served to successfully represent her clients in civil and criminal tax litigation and in tax disputes before the Internal Revenue Service, the Department of Justice, state taxing authorities, and in federal court.
Client Experience
Ms. Rinaldi represents individuals, trusts and businesses with U.S. and international tax reporting responsibilities in audits with the IRS and state taxing authorities. She is experienced in representing U.S. persons and businesses with income from domestic and international sources, as well as foreign persons with U.S.-sourced income and businesses that are responsible for withholding taxes from payments made to foreign persons and businesses.
Ms. Rinaldi represents and advises clients worldwide facing possible prosecution for failure to disclose offshore financial accounts – including those who have accounts with UBS AG, HSBC and other public banks, private banks and financial institutions, located in Switzerland, Canada, the Channel Islands, the Bahamas, the Middle East, and other foreign locations.
With an office strategically located in Washington, D.C., the center for all government, tax-related agencies and federal courts, Ms. Rinaldi is able to capitalizes on the accessibility and proximity to the headquarters of the Internal Revenue Service, the Department of Justice, the United States Tax Court and other state taxing authorities.
